Becky has a B.A. in music from Agnes Scott College and a M.Ed. in Music Therapy from the University of Georgia. She practiced as a music therapist for 7 years, but returned to school for a M.A. in Special Education after being diagnosed with a hearing loss. She found the field of VI purely by accident upon being hired by the Governor Morehead Preschool in 1998, and in 1994 she received National Board Certification in VI. Becky continues to work for the same program as a lead teacher, now called the Early Learning Sensory Support Program for Children with Visual Impairment. For fun, Becky ventures onto the community theatre stage about twice a year.
